Privacy & advertising

This page explains, in plain language, what the site stores, what stays in your browser, and what would change if advertising is added. Last updated: 23 August 2026.

How it works today

Purchase records stay in your browser

Behind Your Day requires no account and does not upload the amounts, categories or estimates you enter. The site is under AdSense review; it does not show ads yet and has no behavioural analytics.

What is stored in the browser?

When you save a record, its purchase region, category, amount and currency, estimate and creation time are stored in this device's browser using localStorage. Language and default-region preferences are also stored in the browser.

This data is not synced across devices and has no cloud backup. You can delete individual records in the site or remove everything through your browser's site-data settings.

Technical data when the site opens

Cloudflare delivers the site's files and provides security protection. Like other websites, Cloudflare may process IP addresses, requested URLs, browser and device details, and network-routing or security-event data. Cloudflare handles this data under its policies; your Behind Your Day purchase records are not included in requests for the site's files.

Google services and future advertising

Google Search Console is used to understand whether search engines can find the site. The main page now also loads the AdSense connection script so Google can review the site before activation. The site does not show ads yet and does not use Google Analytics.

The connection script may allow Google to receive the current page URL, IP address, and browser or device information. If advertising is enabled in the future, Google and its advertising partners may also use cookies or similar technology to deliver and measure ads, prevent abuse, and decide whether to personalize ads according to your choices. Where consent is required, a Google-certified consent interface will be shown first.

Your choices

  • You can use the live estimate without saving a record.
  • You can delete site records or clear browser site data at any time.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some future features may then be limited.
  • If an advertising consent control is added, you can change your choice through that interface.
